Referees, journalists, Eden Hazard and even teenage boys are incurring the wrath of the Chelsea boss this weather, but now he has taken on arguably his most defenceless target. Scottish rugby fans. Still reeling from their sickening quarter-final exit at the Rugby World Cup, now they have to listen to Mourinho describing them as crybabies. In what context, you may ask? Well, Jose's only context really: the criticism of referees. The Special One was not happy when Damir Skomina failed to award Cesc Fabregas a penalty in Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League last night and in a post-match interview drew comparison between his reaction and Scottish fans' response to Craig Joubert error of judgement on Sunday. “The referee was weak and naive. Big penalty.” “I think [Skomina] made one mistake and, for example in the Rugby World Cup, I think the referee in the Scotland game was very good, but he made one mistake and because of that mistake Scotland is crying,” Mourinho said.
You would have to question Mourinho's assessment of Joubert's performance - did he think the South African referee was correct to send Sean Maitland to the sin bin for an intentional knock-on? Sometimes it seems the Portuguese just twists things to suit his own narrative.
