That's a hell of a six weeks for the 28-year-old Dubliner. The Aberdeen winger has played a crucial role in bringing table-topping Celtic the distance this season, with the Dons their closest challengers in the Scottish Premiership title race. Dundee United v Aberdeen - Scottish League Cup Semi-Final Hayes has scored five times in 40 appearances for Aberdeen this season and his displays have seen him shortlisted for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award. Hayes, who came off the bench to make his debut for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-0 friendly victory over Switzerland last month, has some stiff competition for the gong though.
