No eyebrows were really raised when, on live television, Jesse Lingard was congratulated for a man of the match performance.
Having come off the bench in the dying moments of normal time in Saturday's FA Cup final, Lingard provided a much-needed injection of energy to the tired legs of Manchester United.
The 23-year-old came up with an absolute screamer to secure the trophy for United in a 2-1 extra time victory over Crystal Palace.
It came as something of a no-brainer that, despite the brevity of his performance, Lingard was man of the match and he was duly given the honour by BBC presenter Dan Walker.
But, it turns out, that there was a mix-up between the broadcasters and that the BBC considered Wayne Rooney the man of the match while Walker was going off of BT Sport's selection - Jesse Lingard.
The news came out via the Twitter account of a very honest and very embarrassed Walker but we think Rooney will be quite happy to leave the youngster keep the bottle of champagne.
