"Because it's politics, it's actually, if I may say so, not the same as managing a football team..."

Preach, Mr Corbyn. What the hell was happening here? Ahead of the general election in Britain, it's good to wreck over some old graves and see what gets dug up. Almost two years ago now, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn spoke with Eamonn Holmes after the party's conference in Brighton and, whilst you might not get a decent insight into his political manifesto from the debate, you get a fair idea of how not to use football as an analogy. Only Ian Botham talking about politics could've been worse than these two talking about sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGH6x98lEjc   Holmes clearly didn't seem too prepped for the interview and eventually declared, in what must have been a rescue-mission for himself, "let's talk football."   Cue: One of the most difficult interviews to watch on TV. "Was yesterday your FA Cup final?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqfyXL2-U_g Then, it got out of control. "Do you think Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger..." - because they'd know how to run labour. "Fergie always said..." "Do you play for a place in the top four or do you want to win?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUPDTyQL4U8 But it wasn't just the football chat that stomped us. It turned into a full-blown fashion critique which thankfully didn't involve any half and half jerseys or scarves. "I know you did the thing with the socks and the sandals..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnoPM7cnLHA And, of course, he had just enough time to call Corbyn a hippy. "You sort of want to hug everybody." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yabyDplWXiE
