Jack Grealish’s new contract means two-week fines now cost him an awful lot more

When Jack Grealish signed a four-year contract with Aston Villa, after a positive start to the season, there was hope that time out of the Premier League spotlight could be the best thing to happen for him.

Grealish is still a young man, though. He is now getting paid even more money and he still likes to let some steam off with friends. That Grealish & co. let said steam off by partying until 7:45am in their hotel room - forcing a call to be made to the police - is the major issue here. West Midlands Police confirmed that they had to eject 12 people from a room at Birmingham's Park Regis hotel For the third time in just over a year, Grealish is in trouble with his club for social activities away from Villa Park. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/778704613029519361 On this occasion, however, the club fine is considerably higher. Grealish now earns £25,000 a week and has, according to The Daily Mail, been fined £50,000. His next two weeks of training and playing will effectively get the recently turned 21-year-old nothing in return but the sheer pleasure of it. Still, with his four-year deal bringing him at least £5m if he remains with the club until 2020, Grealish is not too badly off.
