Ivan Toney has revealed that he is "assisting the FA with their enquiries" in light of reports that he is being investigated for gambling on football.
The Sunreported that the Brentford forward was at the centre of a probe of historical betting allegations which date back to a period before he joined his current club.
Toney released a statement on Twitter which said: I’m aware of a story about me in a national newspaper today (Saturday November 5).
"I have been assisting the Football Association with their enquiries and will not be making any comment until such investigation has reached its conclusion.
"I am a proud Englishman and it has always been my childhood dream to play for my country at a World Cup finals."

The FA have refused to comment however Brentford also released a short statement insisting that "they would not be commenting."
FA rules state that players operating at Premier League, English Football League, National League and The FA Women’s Super League and The FA Women’s Championship levels are banned from betting on games.
Toney missed his side's 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday through suspension as the Bees conceded a last-minute own goal at the City Ground after initially coming from a goal down to take the lead.
The 26-year-old is widely expected to feature in Gareth Southgate's final 26-man squad for the World Cup in what would be his first major competition with the Three Lions.
He was included in England's previous squad for their September internationals but didn't make an appearance in either of the games.
