Jamie Vardy's incredible goalscoring run has come to an end.
Not that it will bother him too much as his side still won 3-0 this afternoon against Swansea to sit on top of the Premier League.
But Vardy endured a day of personal disappointment as his bid to match an Irishman's record of scoring in 12 consecutive top flight English league games came to an end.
Vardy's goal last week against Manchester United had set a new Premier League record of 11-goals in 11 games, but today's blank it means he is still a goal short of a record set by Jimmy Dunne who scored in 12 consecutive games for Sheffield United in the First Division season of 1931-32.
Dunne was in the midst of an incredible run of form for the Blades, for whom he racked up 143 goals in 173 appearances. He also netted 13 times in 15 appearances for the Irish national side in the 1930s.
Vardy's season has been sensational, but some football fans, and many Irishmen among them, are delighted he's missed out on a piece of personal and footballing history
