Exciting!

Heimir Hallgrimsson has named his Ireland squad for the upcoming friendlies against Qatar (May 26 at the Aviva Stadium) and Canada (June 6 in Montreal).

The 24-man group includes four League of Ireland players - Shamrock Rovers duo Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan, Bohemians midfielder Dawson Devoy, Cork City keeper Conor Brann - as well as Tottenham Hotspur's Mason Melia, who is touted as the best uncapped talent in Ireland.

Melia is among five players who have received a first senior call-up, alongside Alex Murphy, Corrie Ndaba, Alex Gilbert and Joe Hodge.

Benfica's Jaden Umeh also returns to the squad, and will be hoping to make his debut after missing out against Grenada.

Hibernian's Owen Elding will link up with the squad for training, although he is not able to play yet due to eligibility issues which are expected to be sorted in the summer.
