Just give us the damned trophy, Fifa, and be done with it!

Ireland were drawn to play Denmark in the World Cup playoffs, earlier this afternoon, with the first leg taking place in Copenhagen next month. https://twitter.com/shaneduffy/status/920263140050382848 The Danes finished second to Poland in their group and have the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Christian Eriksen in their squad. Many Irish fans would have been hoping to avoid the likes of Croatia and Italy in the draw, although Switzerland were the highest ranked of the playoff teams and had been narrowly pipped to automatic qualification by Portugal. As soon as the draw was made, Irish fans were quick to celebrate the lesser of four evils. https://twitter.com/Garehh_/status/920261782400372736 https://twitter.com/Avi_red4life/status/920265192805629952 https://twitter.com/JasonRedmond_/status/920260789499580423 https://twitter.com/AhmadYushairy/status/920260924853891075 https://twitter.com/thetwomey/status/920261187945803776 https://twitter.com/Razor_LFCDT/status/920261490778820608 Some were trying not to get carried away.
