Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman withdrew from Everton's trip to Newcastle on Saturday with an illness.
Coleman traveled to Tyneside and participated in the pre-match warm-up at St. James' Park but pulled out shortly before kick-off with what appears to be an illness. https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1104393867829366784 New Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy named his extended squad before this month's Euro 2020 qualifiers with Georgia and Gibraltar and new call-up Padraig Amond said that both Coleman and former Stoke City winger Jon Walters both reached out to him after hearing of his selection in the national squad."I've not spoken to the manager but I've spoken to a couple of players who sent me messages, some I knew and some I didn't, which was nice," Amond told the BBC. "I played with Seamus Coleman in the Under-21s ten years ago and he sent me a message, and last night out of the blue I had a message from Jon Walters which I had to look at and think 'Really?'! "It was a fantastic message with lots of encouragement, something I really appreciate."
