The international break begins with the visit of Senegal to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin tonight and the match will be shown on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player if you are in Ireland.
Those outside Ireland can watch the game on Amazon Prime Video here. Amazon also has the rights to the game in Luxembourg on Tuesday 10 June.
Tonight’s game against Senegal kicks off at 7.45pm and will give the team a chance to secure a third consecutive victory under coach Heimir Hallgrímsson after beating Bulgaria twice in the Nations League playoffs.
Ireland will be waiting on the fitness of AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott, who is returning from injury. He will compete with Evan Ferguson and Adam Idah for a start up front against the African side.
Promising youngsters John Joe Patrick Finn and Killian Phillips will also be hoping to stake their claim for a role in the all-important World Cup qualifiers in September. Both will pick up a first cap for their country if they are called upon.
Elsewhere goalkeeper Caoimhin Kellher will make his first appearance since securing a move to Premier League side Brentford.
Senegal will be without Sadio Mane, who withdrew from the squad. They will feature Illiman Ndiaye of Everton and Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea in a strong forward line. There is Premier League experience in the midfield too where Idrissa Gana Gueye and Pape Mata Sarr will likely feature.
Crystal Palace’s Ismail Sarr is also expected to start as Ireland face a tough test against Senegal.
Head Coach Heimir Hallgrímsson said: “If you look at their matches and how they play, massive physicality, I’d say not only speed but running power, they come at you again and again, so we will be tested defensively, massively, in this game if they play like they have done, in their last 22 games they haven’t lost, amazing for a national team to play 22 games without losing.”
Ireland will face Hungary and Portugal in the World Cup qualifiers in September.
