With the news that Mario Balotelli has finally been shipped out of Anfield, it's only right that we celebrate the Italian's finest moment in a Liverpool kit
That's right, Balotelli once found the net from the halfway line!
Unfortunately the goal came in training and even more unfortunately, it was an own goal.
The Independent detail the OG that came in a practice game when, near the halfway line, Mario inexplicably turned around and hoofed the ball towards his own goal.
The bizarre decision beat goalkeeper Brad Jones and Balotelli burst into laughter as "witnesses stood open-mouthed: first-team players shook their heads in disbelief, youngsters smirked nervously at the brilliance in front of them".
We can't express the frustration we feel at the lack of video footage of this incident. It's just not fair.
Hopefully the flow of comical Mario stories does not dry up now that his loan move to Milan has been confirmed. We think we're probably OK on that front, though.
