Graeme Souness questions Paul Pogba’s commitment after man of the match performance

Paul Pogba divides opinion. To some, he's the second coming of Jesus Christ, being held back by José Mourinho's negative tactics. To others, he is vastly overrated, and his unapologetic confidence is unjustified given his lack of consistent performances. In reality, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Graeme Souness is definitely in the second camp. The former Liverpool captain has spoken critically of Pogba countless times, questioning the player's attitude towards training and his commitment to improving as a player. And he's back at it once again. Speaking on Virgin Media One yesterday after Manchester United's victory over Young Boys, in which Pogba scored two goals, Souness still could not find it within himself to praise the World Cup winner. "If he wants to become a star, someone who can run games, and people talk about his like he is a proper player, I think he's got to show consistency, he's got to show leadership and I think he's got to change his attitude to football," Souness said. "I bet he's a really nice man but I think he treats football like a bit of a joke," he added. "I wonder if he trains properly every day, that's a bit of a stab in the dark at one of the things that could improve, but I don't see him having improved at all since the day he arrived [back at United]." https://twitter.com/8goody3/status/1042548218633039874 Souness makes a fair point regarding Pogba's lack of improvement since he rejoined United, but questioning the player's commitment to training, having not watched him training, reeks of an agenda against the player. It's yet another example to add to the long list of rants about Pogba from Souness, who seems to think that all footballers should have no personality, nor should they even dare to dance when celebrating a goal.
