"Ex-England and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and MK Dons have been in contact over the vacant manager's role," the BBC state in a brief update.MK Dons were relegated from the Championship last season but haven't exactly been looking likely to bounce straight back up, sitting 21st in League One now.
Of course, Gerrard's rumoured leap into management has already started some Liverpool fans touting him to have a return to Anfield at some stage in the future, not that anyone would want to see Mr Klopp leave any time soon.
The move would represent Stevie G's first non-playing role in football however and that, in itself, opens up a whole world of interesting possibilities.
Gareth Southgate is probably already feeling the pressure.
