Gary Neville has expressed his shock at Arne Slot's treatment towards a Liverpool player during their victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
In the first half, Liverpool were far from their best and went into half-time drawing 0-0 with the newly promoted outfit.
The Reds then went on to win 2-0 courtesy of goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.
However, at half-time Slot made a key change by taking off Jarrel Quansah for Ibrahim Konate, stating he was not winning all his duels.
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former Manchester United defender spoke on the decision stating:
"I thought Arne Slot was quite tough on Quansah.
"Subbing someone at halftime is big, I don’t think it’s done lightly by managers. It was the way in which after the game as well, he was quite blunt about how he answered it, there was no holding back.
"I think there is an element there of him being quite sort of clinical and brutal, saying he reacted to the game and what was happening, for me it felt like they had to win the duels, I think that was the main thread behind his decision.
"It worked. You’ve got to say that in the second half, Liverpool were a lot better and it was a good win for them."
