David Ginola is a very lucky to be alive today after taking ill during a football game on Thursday.
Various reports surfaced that the former Tottenham winger had suffered a serious cardiac arrest during a game on the French Riviera on Thursday.
Initial reports he had suffered a heart attack seemed to be allayed when this tweet was sent out from his account in the hours after the news was first reported.

However, reports this afternoon are suggesting the former France international underwent a five hour surgery to clear blocked arteries around his heart this morning in Monaco.

The Frenchman has confirmed he's on the mend.

It's believed emergency CPR performed when Ginola collapsed during the game may have saved his life.
It has been reported earlier on Friday morning that the 49-year-old was in a coma after Thursday's medical incident, but those rumours have thankfully now been found to be false.
