Frank de Boer sparks Premier League speculation after leaving Ajax

Frank de Boer has long been a manager of interest for clubs looking to appoint a progressive, modern coach.

The former Dutch international defender, who played more than 400 times for his boyhood club and also had spells with Barcelona and Rangers, had been in charge at the Amsterdam ArenA since 2010. He was a target for Liverpool when they appointed Brendan Rodgers and was again linked with Anfield when Rodgers was sacked last year. De Boer was also heavily linked with Tottenham before they opted to appoint Mauricio Pochettino in the summer of 2014.
