Chris Forrester has had his contract terminated by Aberdeen

Chris Forrester has had his contract with Aberdeen terminated. At his own request, the Irish midfielder asked for his deal to be ripped up just a couple of months after signing for the club from Peterborough United in a deal worth £200k. Forrester's signed a three-year contract with the Scottish club, but will now return home to Dublin. https://twitter.com/AberdeenFC/status/1087705093363900416 In a statement released by Aberdeen on Tuesday afternoon, the club's manager Derek McInnes said:

"It’s with a lot of sadness and regret that we’ve terminated Chris’s contract. "At his request, we've allowed him to be back with his family in Ireland. "He's had a lot to contend with in his personal life and as a club, we have an understanding of the situation and we wish him well with his future career. "Everyone at the club also wishes Chris all the very best in the future."

Forrester established himself as one of the best players in Ireland during a three-year spell with St Patrick's Athletic. The 26-year-old earned a move to Peterborough in 2015 and excelled during his first two seasons with the League One club. He was named the club's captain and drew comparisons with Michael Carrick following an impressive performance in a FA Cup tie against Chelsea. Evans favours a more direct style of play. The Dubliner joined Aberdeen last summer but only made eight appearances for the Scottish club.
