Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie set to rejoin Feyenoord

Robin van Persie is set to make a return to his old club Feyenoord this January, according to reports in the Netherlands. The striker began his professional career at the Rotterdam club after he joined their youth team as a 16-year-old. He scored 22 appearances in 78 games for Feyenoord, earning himself a move to Arsenal where he stayed for eight seasons. The Dutchman struggled with injuries but exploded in his last two seasons at the Emirates, scoring 30 league goals in his last year as a Gunner. During the past couple of seasons, he has been plying his trade for Fernerbahçe in Turkey, but fancies a move back to his native Netherlands. His career is set to come full circle as he returns to the city of his birth to play for Feyenoord and try to help the champions qualify for the Champions League.
