It wasn't much of a surprise when Tim Sherwood bit the bullet on Sunday morning.

Aston Villa are rooted to the bottom of the league with just one win all season. Time is ticking on and with the bumper new TV deal kicking in next season it has never been more important, financially at least, to stay in the Premier League. All this means patience was in thin supply and Sherwood got the bullet. David Moyes was quickly installed as the odds on favourite to replace Sherwood, but it seems that behind the scenes the wheels have already been turning with former Lyon manager Remi Garde in advanced talks to take the Villa hotseat, according to Canal+. https://twitter.com/MOZDof/status/658280820747169792 https://twitter.com/Mladenovic_/status/658280867937296385 You may remember Garde from his playing days at Arsenal - he was signed by Arsene Wenger in 1996 and spent three years as a squad player at Highbury.
