Included in the proposal is the formation of a brand new league, League Three, which would be contested between 20 teams. The overhaul would also see the Championship, League One and League Two reduced to 20 teams each, down from the current 24. The 72 Football League clubs will get the chance to accept or reject the proposal when they meet at their annual AGM next June.
