Liverpool F. C. once again put their fans through a hellish torture, before eventually emerging winners against Borussia Dortmund 4-3 on the night, and 5-4 on aggregate in the Europa League quarter-final. The game looked to be dead and buried when Marco Reus scored the German's third goal just after half-time and put Dortmund 3-1 up. However Liverpool fans who prayed, and begged, for their team to recover had their pleas answered thanks to late strikes from Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren.
