Talk about playing hardball.

Liverpool are refusing to take a €9 million loss on Christian Benteke. The Reds paid €39 million for the Belgian forward less than a year ago but the Merseyside club are holding firm on their €36 million asking price for the former Aston Villa man. Crystal Palace formally launched a €30 million bid for Benteke on Friday but, according to the Liverpool Echo, that approach has been rebuffed by Liverpool, who refuse to lower their valuation. Benteke endured an altogether underwhelming debut season with the Reds, scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances all season, and supporters are willing to bite potential bidders' hands off for a fee of €30 million. https://twitter.com/SimplyJurgen/status/748944644818538496 https://twitter.com/Flakes1979/status/748942012418760704 https://twitter.com/pcoo/status/748944074581868544 https://twitter.com/CPFC_Mitch/status/748948438172196864 https://twitter.com/redsmicer/status/748948320102584320 https://twitter.com/GLENJOHNSONPOOL/status/748946460100681728 https://twitter.com/kfas210/status/748945096318615552 https://twitter.com/NBoycott/status/748941855258210304 https://twitter.com/chrisgrahamlfc/status/748938701531734020 SNAPCHAT
