Fans absolutely despise Jonathan De Guzman destroying jersey number etiquette at Chievo

Chievo have gone too far this time, they must be stopped.

For all those traditionalists out there who are trying their best to ignore the Zenit St Petersburger story that's been floating around the internet today, prepare to be infuriated. There's an unwritten rule regarding squad numbers when it comes to the beautiful game. In general, numbers nine and 10 will be strikers, number two is usually the right back, seven will be your right-sided winger and then it's pretty much a free-for-all for the rest of those coveted kit numbers. Well, that is except for the number one, which almost always is reserved for a goalkeeper. Unless, of course, you're a club that just wants to watch the world burn like Serie A outfit Chievo, who decided that the number one jersey would be better suited to their new midfielder, Jonathan De Guzman. To make matters worse, the two goalkeepers in their current squad, Walter Bressan and Andrea Seculin, have 32 and 90 on the back of their respective kits... for some reason. https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/771704770314788864 Of course, the fans were apoplectic about this blatant disregard for the unwritten jersey rule, particularly because their league-mates Sampdoria have already shattered it by giving their keeper Emiliano Viviano the number two jersey. The difference being is that Chievo's shirt sin is so annoying that you would be forgiven for not realising just how truly awful the font for the player's name is. It's easy to miss at the first glance.
