The FAI have released a new batch of tickets for next Saturday's Nations League encounter against England at Aviva Stadium after their original 'three-ticket package' was ridiculed by fans.
Ahead of a busy autumn run of games, the FAI introduced a three-ticket package to supporters whereby the only way they could purchase tickets for the much-anticipated showdown against the Three Lions on 7 September, would be to also buy tickets for the subsequent home games against Greece (September 10) and Finland (November 14).
Prices for that option started at €135, and was slammed by many Irish fans living outside of Dublin, who don't get many opportunities to attend competitive home games.
As of yesterday evening, it appears the FAI have listened to the complaints from fans.
Single tickets were released through Ticketmaster last night, with cheapest available setting fans back €90.
Next Saturday's affair will kick off a new campaign for both sides and mark the start of Heimir Hallgrímsson and Lee Carsley‘s tenures as manager of their respective nations.
It will be the first time since 1991 that the neighbouring nations have faced each other competitively, and there has been serious excitement around their reunion since they were first matched together in February’s draw.
Throw in the likely presence of former Ireland midfielder Declan Rice and ex-Ireland Under-21 star Jack Grealish and it’s set to be an unforgettable occasion.
