England fans arrested in Munich for Nazi salutes before Germany clash

Three fans were arrested for making a Nazi salute.

Seven England supporters were arrested in Munich on Monday, including three for making a Nazi salute. It is thought that more than 4,500 Three Lions fans will be in Germany for Tuesday's Nations League game against Hansi Flick's side. The other arrests included two for inciting police, one for using a flare indoors and another for urinating in public. England fans were allocated 3,500 tickets in Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena for the clash, however, a number of travelling supporters have reportedly purchased tickets in the home end.  The Three Lions' match against Germany on Tuesday night is their first game in Munich since beating Germany 5-1 in a World Cup qualifier in 2001. https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1534110504859361280

England fans ignore Southgate's request.

The arrests come after England boss Southgate urged Three Lions fans not to 'embarrass' the nation as his side prepare to face Germany.

He was asked about the behaviour of England fans ahead of his team's trip to Munich, and insisted that crowd trouble definitely has an impact on the players.

The last time the two sides met was at the Round of 16 stage of last summer's European Championship, where England secured a 2-0 victory. However, some England fans were criticised after chanting World War Two songs before, during and after the clash at Wembley.

Three Lions players jeered in Budapest.

There were no England fans at Saturday's Nations League defeat in Budapest, with Hungary having been ordered to play three matches behind closed doors as punishment for discriminatory behaviour by their supporters at Euro 2020.

However, there were more than 30,000 spectators at the Puskas Arena, with the Hungarian FA having used a UEFA regulation that allows children up to 14 to attend for free if accompanied by an adult.

England's players were booed when they took a knee before kick-off, despite most of the crowd being children.
