The first weekend of Scottish football isn't even a wee old and we've already got an electronic tag
Scottish football has in recent years attained a peculiar sort of cult status, thanks in no small part to its passionate fans, unusual mascots and just general funniness, such as Neil Lennon being sent off for doing an airplane celebration on the pitch.
In Scottish football you often see things that simply don't appear to happen elsewhere, and this weekend gave us one of those moments in spectacular glory.
What was that moment, you ask? Well, feast your eyes on the ankle of Dundee FC midfielder Paul McGowan.
McGowan was playing for Dundee against St. Mirren in their opening match of the new Scottish Premiership season. Dundee lost the match 2-1, but that's not the full story, in truth.
The full story - the takeaway from this game - was a photo of McGowan, his ankle and an electronic tag wrapped around it.

The tag in question was placed upon McGowan's ankle after he admitted to spitting at a bouncer outside of a nightclub in May. That followed four previous convictions over the last eight years.
McGowan, who has previously played for Celtic and St. Mirren, was placed under supervision for a year after admitting the act, as well as being ordered pay his victim compensation of £200 and to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
