Call us crazy but we reckon Divock Origi won't be taking the next penalty awarded to Liverpool.
Origi saw his spot kick saved towards the end of Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday night and while the failure to score a second mattered little to the result, it made the final few minutes unnecessarily anxious for Reds supporters.
Presented with a gilt-edged opportunity to put breathing space between themselves and their League Two opposition and force the game beyond Plymouth, Origi couldn't convert.
The Reds striker committed to am unconvincing short run-up and the lack of power, coupled with the failure to send it anywhere near the corner, allowed goalkeeper Luke McCormick to save with little difficulty.

And statisticians, as they tend to do, did a little bit of digging for themselves.
The wonderfully hard-working folks at Squawka discovered that Origi is actually in some absolutely awful form from 12 yards.
The 21-year-old has failed to find the net with each of his last five penalties, which is rather shocking when you consider how most forwards consider spot kicks guaranteed goals.

Whether he wants to take the next penalty or not, we somehow don't anticipate manager Jurgen Klopp being quite so quick to give him the thumbs-up from the dugout.
