According to Jack Charlton Paul Gascoigne wanted to feature for the Boys in Green, and he was eligible through his grandmother. It never happened of course, and instead he became a global icon with a tearful display in a World Cup semi-final in 1990. The former Newcastle and Lazio genius is a man who has battled numerous demons over the last number of years, but pictures which emerged today suggest that he could be facing his toughest battle yet.
