Diogo Jota’s final social media post before his tragic death was to share the video from his wedding, which he celebrated just 10 days before the traffic accident which killed the Liverpool forward.
Jota has died aged 28 following a road traffic accident, with local media reporting that he was killed in Zamora, Spain.
On June 22nd, Jota married Rute Cardoso, with whom he has three children.
The caption alongside the wedding video, posted on Instagram on June 2nd, simply reads: ‘A day we will never forget’.
Jota had also shared a picture five days before, with a picture of himself and his new wife with the caption: ‘June 22, 2025 - Yes to forever’.
He was travelling with his brother Andre, 26, who also died in the accident as per reports.
His brother Andre was also a professional footballer playing for Portuguese second-tier club Penafiel.
Spanish media report the accident occurred on the A52 road towards Benavente, near the Zamora region of Sanabria.
