Didier Drogba with the most original way to say goodbye to Stamford Bridge

We'd never have guessed the manner in which Didier Drogba would leave the pitch in his final game for Chelsea.

The Blues legend was captaining Jose Mourinho's side for their last game of the season but he didn't even make half-time as he was substituted on the half-hour mark. The 37-year-old striker appeared to pick up a knock and rather than limp off the pitch with a downcast wave to the crowd, Drogba was hoisted aloft by his teammates and carried to the sideline like a King. It really was a soul-stirring gesture to see the Stamford Bridge crowd offer their former talisman the standing ovation he deserved while his teammates showed their appreciation for all he provided to the London club in his two stints with them.
