What a real shame.

Harry Arter has pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad. The Bournemouth midfielder has had to withdraw with a thigh injury and is almost certainly out of Euro 2016. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/737692547385036800 After a man-of-the-match display in just his second international cap against Holland on Friday night, Arter was expected to not only make Martin O'Neill's final 23-man squad but possibly act as James McCarthy's replacement who is also struggling for fitness. The news comes as a real blow to the player and the country. Arter was busting his balls in that last friendly against the Dutch and it showed with another exciting performance. Player rating But the 26-year-old has left the camp due to injury and will almost certainly be excluded from O'Neill's 23-man squad which is named on Tuesday night after the clash with Belarus. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/737699324277231616
