The German sports manufacturers, themselves, say the home top is a direct nod to the 1982 United jersey worn by Ron Atkinson's First Division hopefuls.
The away jersey has yet to be released. That will be done before the league kicks off next Saturday, August 8.
However, in an interview with the club's official website, adidas designer Inigo Turner has given an insight into how it will look, for the next few years at least.
'The colours are definitely not set as the away strip changes more than the home kit,' he says.
'The away ones are always an area where we can try new things and it's usually an important discussion with the club. There is more of an experimental process.'
'For instance,' Turner adds, 'the adidas designs in the early nineties were Marmite jerseys, so you either loved them or hated them, but they have become quite iconic now.'
And, as an added bonus, here is a sneaky peak of the away jersey.
This is a minor departure from the jersey the usually reliable Footy Headlines revealed as the leaked kit, earlier this month.
