Premier League club finally make realistic bid for Jeff Hendrick

Jeff Hendrick is set for the Premier League. Of that, there is little doubt. Despite interest from Galatasaray, there have been no firm bids from the Turkish giants. There have, however, been three bids from the Premier League - all from Burnley. Sean Dyche wants the 24-year-old Ireland midfielder in before the August 13 commencement of the Premier League campaign. This is said to be Burnley's final offer but with Middlesbrough and Sunderland both anticipated to enter the frame, they may end up forking out more for the privilege of securing Hendrick's signature. Following a few weeks back in Ireland, where he kept in shape at the Sports Performance Institute with former UFC star Paul Redmond, Hendrick returned to his club on Thursday. Derby's next preseason fixture is against Walsall, on Saturday, but it may be a match too soon for Hendrick and his Ireland teammates Richard Keogh and Cyrus Christie. With the likes of Dwight Gayle (£10m to Newcastle) and Matt Phillips (£5m to West Brom) already on the move this summer, getting Hendrick for £7m would be good business for all involved.
