But now that the transfer window has slammed shut and De Gea has gotten some playing time under his belt with Spain, the stopper could well be recalled this weekend when United host arch-rivals Liverpool.
But De Gea doesn't sound too confident of a guaranteed start and revealed to Spanish outlet AS that he'll need a bit of good fortune to get back in the team.
"I felt good. I was really longing to get back playing. I'll keep working and let's see if I have some luck with my club.
