No manager but they're handing out contracts for fun.

It's worked well for Darron Gibson who has managed to secure himself a two-year contract extension at Everton even before Ronald Koeman has been announced as boss. The Derry man has only played 17 league games in the last three seasons - only five of which were starts - as he's struggled for injury since his move from Manchester United. https://twitter.com/Everton/status/740906457483218948 At 28, the midfielder missed out on Ireland's 23-man Euro 2016 squad and Roy Keane's comments about some players not going on loan to get more football when they had the chance seemed to be directed at players like Gibson who didn't play enough for their clubs ahead of the summer tournament. But Everton have placed their faith in the Irish man even if it sparked a mixed reaction amongst the supporters. Some really were not happy. https://twitter.com/EvertonBlueArmy/status/740907236701175808 Others were quite content. https://twitter.com/Paul_The_Blue/status/740917220000288768 It's not the news people are waiting on though. https://twitter.com/evertonfcpics/status/740910823665750016 The injury absences are causing frustration. https://twitter.com/EvertonCanada/status/740907798482059264 What about the other Irish internationals? https://twitter.com/munitionsfamily/status/740915128053473281 It's a bit of good news after learning post-Belarus defeat that his services were no longer required by the Republic of Ireland for the rest of the summer. That news had some sections of Northern Ireland's support pointing out the irony that he switched national teams at under-16 level. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/738103782584799232
