CSKA Moscow fans injured as escalator malfunctions in Rome

Several supporters have been seriously injured after an escalator malfunctioned ahead of Roma's Champions League meeting with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.

The incident took place at the Repubblica metro station in Rome, where an escalator collapsed and caused a terrifying crush. Italian news agency Ansa has reported that at least 10 people have been badly hurt, with the majority sustaining leg injuries as the escalator rapidly descended and sent fans hurtling down the moving stairs.
