The Manchester United manager made it clear over the weekend that he would be at the head of the queue if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave Real Madrid this summer, but agent Jorge Mendes has insisted the Portuguese is going nowhere.

However, Mendes has attempted, almost certainly in vain, to put a halt to rumours swirling around his star client. Speaking on French TV, Mendes said: "It is impossible. He will end his career at Real Madrid."
