Cristiano Ronaldo posts battle cry on Instagram after humiliating Liverpool defeat

"The time is now!"

Tough times make tough people, and they don't get tougher than Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won and lost the biggest prizes that the sport has to offer. After suffering a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, the number seven wanted to send a message to the fans. It's not in Ronaldo's nature to quit, or to concede any ground when the going gets tough, and that's very much the message he wanted to convey here.

"Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want. "And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. "They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver. The time is now!"
