Conor Sammon has completed his fifth move to a Scottish club

Conor Sammon loves a loan move... or six.

It's official, Conor Sammon has joined Motherwell on a season-long loan. It marks the 31-year-old's 11th move, sixth loan deal and fifth move to a Scottish club. So far, Sammon has already played for Kilmarnock, Hearts, Kilmarnock again and Partick Thistle. He scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for Thistle last season but was unable to prevent them from being relegated after losing a play-off with Livingston. Sammon had a brief stint in the Premier League with Wigan Athletic and won nine caps with the Republic of Ireland senior team. His last appearance with the Boys In Green came in 2013. “I’m just looking forward to getting stuck in here, playing a lot of games, scoring a lot of goals, and just being a part of a successful season." “I think the other strikers in the squad are very, very similar. They’re physical, strong and quick, so I definitely think I can fit in here and I think my style of play will help me to have a good, good season here and I’m looking forward to that, looking forward to training with the lads and to getting familiar with each other and how each other play and stuff like that.”

Sammon will join up with former Republic of Ireland U21 internationals Carl McHugh and Charles Dunne at his new club.
