Manchester City have reportedly been left stunned at the Premier League suggesting they should collaborate with an Irish comedian who has previously mocked the club.
In a sketch that seemingly irked City in the past, Moore wore a bald cap to imitate manager Pep Guardiola in a press conference mock-up where the Spaniard is asked about City making signings.
Moore then impersonates Guardiola answering the question by saying: “We have signed four barristers, eight lawyers and a judge,” referencing the alleged 115 breaches of the Premier League’s spending rules.
In another sketch, Moore, impersonating Guardiola, is seen at a dock with his hands cuffed as other Premier League managers give evidence.
We are still waiting for the verdict on the charges brought to City in February 2023 following a four-year investigation.
City have been accused of breaching financial regulations over an extended period and have been in a legal battle with the Premier League since September 2024.
The club have strenuously denied all charges against them.
If City are found guilty, a range of punishments have been touted including huge fines, points deductions or even relegation.
However, both sides will be able to appeal against the verdict, and a final punishment could drag on.
