Chris Brunt got stuck into West Brom teammates and Alan Pardew after latest defeat

The Northern Irishman wasn't happy.

A miserable season has got even worse for West Brom this past week. After being dumped out of the FA Cup by Southampton last weekend, the Baggies' wretched Premier League season continued on Saturday as they lost at home to Huddersfield. Their latest loss leaves West Brom rooted to the foot of the table on 20 points, seven from safety. They're looking increasingly adrift and, as odds tumble on them dropping down to the Championship, it sounds like Chris Brunt has had enough. The Northern Irish midfielder reportedly took it upon himself to launch a scathing attack on his teammates following Saturday's defeat. According to the Express and Star, the 33-year-old Belfast man was furious in the dressing room post-game and had no trouble expressing his frustration. Brunt, who was Albion's best player despite only coming on as a 57th-minute substitute for an admittedly poor James McClean before setting up Craig Dawson's goal, reportedly demanded better from his teammates as they approach the business end of the season. https://twitter.com/John_Dunn77/status/967444646615048192 Interestingly, Brunt also reportedly openly questioned Alan Pardew's tactics, specifically his manager's decision to go with a 4-4-2 against Huddersfield's five-man midfield. The Baggies were outrun and outnumbered in the middle of the park for much of the game, a situation Brunt clearly feels could have been avoided. Pardew is now said to be hanging by a thread despite only succeeding Tony Pulis in the Hawthorns dugout in December. With only one league win since, the former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss is staring down the barrel at another undignified exit.

Following the game, Pardew said: "This is team thing and regardless of my selection, the team didn't win against Huddersfield at home, so I don't think they're going to be best pleased about any sort of decision. "We have to accept that and move on, and that's what we'll do. We just have to go to the next week and hopefully get ourselves a win.”
