Kompany, who captained Manchester City to multiple Premier League titles, managed for three years in Belgium with domestic giants Anderlecht before taking the plunge into English football last summer.
Joining then newly-relegated Burnley, the former centre half has guided the Lancashire club back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
With the Championship notorious for being one of Europe's toughest leagues, Kompany has effortlessly steered his side to the title having just lost two games in the process.
Transforming their much-maligned defensive style which became so synonymous with Burnley during former manager Sean Dyche's decade-long reign at the club, Kompany's side now play a progressive and attacking brand of football.

It is this transformation which has reportedly caught the eye of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, who wants to appoint a manager with the view to the long-term after a tumultuous season which has seen three managers in the home dugout at the Bridge.
Joining Kompany on the three-man shortlist is former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who has been out of work since leaving PSG last year. The other man in contention is currently unknown to media.
Julian Nagelsmann, who is just weeks removed from his surprise dismissal at Bayern Munich, had been in talks about a potential move to London, but has since pulled out of the running to take over at Stamford Bridge.
