As David Luiz tried to interrupt, Fabregas shrugged him off to heap praise on matchwinner Michy Batshuayi. Sprung from the bench to provide the spark after a season in which he only sparkled briefly, Batshuayi swept the ball home to become a Chelsea hero. Fabregas declared:

"This is the beauty of football. A player that doesn't play a lot and everyone thinks he doesn't count too much, and he goes and scores the winner for the championship. "Football is f**king unbelievable!"
