Celtic poised to sign 18-year-old St Pat’s winger

Another chapter could be added to the storied history of Irish players lining out at Celtic Park.
The agent of talented Irish winger Darragh Markey has confirmed that Celtic have asked him over for a trial. The 18-year-old, who made his senior debut last year, has been touted as a breakthrough Airtricity star this year. However, the Scottish Premiership may beckon. Markey's agent Gerry Carlile told Press Association that the Dubliner will travel over to Glasgow for a trial game this weekend. Markey, his agent insisted, is still a St Pat's player but there are a number of clubs interested in securing his services.
