The two Manchester clubs will duel it out for a spot in the Caraboa Cup Final in January, that's after they saw off their respective lower-league opponents last night. Aston Villa's reward for seeing off Liverpool's youthful side is a date with Leicester, who needed penalties to take down Big Dunc's Everton outfit at Goodison Park. The two-legged ties adds to the clubs' already congested fixture lists, which can only be good news for runaway league leaders Liverpool.
Manchester United 3-0 Colchester
A flurry of goals in ten minutes was enough to put United one step closer to their first trophy in three seasons. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial scored either side of a Ryan Jackson own goal, as United set up a semi-final date with their bitter rivals Manchester City.

Oxford United 1-3 Manchester City
Pep Guardiola's side huffed and puffed somewhat as they eventually saw off League One outfit Oxford. A Raheem Sterling brace eventually saw City through as they look for their third League Cup in a row, although they will have to face a United side that outplayed them at home just a few weeks ago.

Everton 2-2 Leicester (Leicester win 4-2 on penalties)
Heartbreak for Big Dunc as he tasted defeat for the first time as caretaker boss, as Everton's 25 year wait for a trophy could be stretched out once again. Leicester looked to be in cruise control after two goals in 3 first half minutes, before Tom Davies and a late Leighton Baines screamer hauled the Merseyside club back into the tie. The Foxes were just too much on penalties, slotting four while Kasper Schmeichel stopped two to send the 2016 Premier League champions through.
