Can any Manchester United players make our combined XI with champions elect Leicester?

If we put David De Gea in goal and had a full Leicester outfield, would there really be any arguments?

The Foxes are undeniably the better side than Manchester United and they understandably dominate the combined XI that we threw together ahead of their clash at Old Trafford. The Premier League race could be run by the final whistle on Sunday afternoon as Leicester require just three points from their remaining three fixtures. Claudio Ranieri's team miracle workers have turned into one of the fairytale stories in modern sporting history and their showing over the past eight months has seen them rightly rewarded in our XI.

Goalkeeper

Kasper Schmeichel could well have gotten the shout between the sticks but he's not been the game-saver that David De Gea has been throughout the season, largely due to the fact that Schmeichel's defence has looked slightly more organised. De Gea has come to the rescue time and time again for Louis van Gaal and we shudder to think how far down the table Manchester United would be without his hands, knees and feet at their disposal. The Spaniard has matured from flailing cross-flapper to complete goalkeeper and he just gets the shout as the last line of defence.

Defence

Yep, they're all Leicester players and what are you going to do about it? Chris Smalling would be the only argument that anybody could make in terms of a potential United addition as he's really grown into the leadership role handed to him by van Gaal this season. But you couldn't possibly break up the partnership of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan at the centre of defence. 15 clean sheets out of 35 games is a remarkable achievement. Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson have been two of the best full backs in the league this season so yeah, it's all blue at the back.

Midfield

Claudio Ranieri has been selecting 4-4-2 for the majority of the season so who are we to question his genius? We've gone for three Leicester men in midfield and have been impressed by Anthony Martial's debut season in England so rewarded him with a place on the left flank. For us, N'Golo Kante has been player of the season and he's partnered by former Manchester United academy prospect Danny Drinkwater in the centre of the park. Riyad Mahrez has been one of the greatest signings in Premier League history and there's no taking away his place on the right.

Forwards

Jamie Vardy is having a party and Marcus Rashford is lucky enough to have been handed an invite. Vardy was one of the first names on our teamsheet, given his 22 goals in the league this season. Cutting Jon Moss down to size aside, the striker is the total package. He's got pace, strength, ability in the air and is arguably the best finisher in England right now. Rashford deserves a place due to his impact in big games and has averaged a goal every two games since being given the chance by van Gaal in February.
