Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady are the Irish players who did the most to put themselves in the shop window thanks to their displays at Euro 2016.
Norwich have placed a £20 million price tag on Brady to try and ward off interest from Premier League champions Leicester and Everton.
Hendrick, meanwhile, was subject of a fairly derisory £3m bid from Burnley earlier this week.
It's hard to believe that either player will play their football in the Championship next season, though there's a real possibility that it may not be until the closing stages of the transfer window before the future of Brady, at least, is settled.
Hendrick could be on the move sooner, especially as Burnley have returned to Derby with an improved offer – believed to be £6.2m – which may tempt the Championship club.
The all-action midfielder was not a regular at Derby last season under manager Paul Clement, though it remains to be seen what plans new boss Nigel Pearson has for the 24-year-old.
A move to Burnley would have many attractions for Hendrick – he would most likely be a regular in the first XI of a Premier League side, albeit one who could well be fighting relegation.
That's not something that would necessarily be the case at a supposedly 'bigger' club.
But by the same token, a difficult season in a struggling side may not be the best thing for his long term prospects.
