British radio station offers Sepp Blatter journalism internship

Just don't let him cover crime.

Sepp Blatter announced last week that he plans to finally step down as Dark Lord of the Sith Fifa President next February. One would imagine the 79 year old would settle into comfortable retirement, however, Blatter revealed he hopes to become a radio journalist, saying: "I think radio is the most popular form of information." (Just wait until he discovers the internet). The Swiss native says his radio show would focus on his hobbies, "geography and politics". And let's face it, the broadcast industry has been crying out for someone to combine the fields of geography and politics, in a radio show, presented by a former football official. 'There's so many radios stations, someone will have me', Blatter also said, and he's right, because he's already got one offer lined up. British station Radio Yorkshire has offered the Fifa President a summer work placement. "If he is serious about wanting to be a radio journalist, then there is not a more serious place to learn than here at Radio Yorkshire," the station's director Sam Brydges said, quite possibly with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, while winking deliriously, elbow nudging and sniggering. Brydges made the offer during an interview with former Leeds and Chelsea chairman Ken Bates, who added: "What you are offering is a job placement opportunity for two weeks, here, at Elland Road and he can find out how to be a proper broadcaster, and perhaps how to answer questions and commentate clearly and openly without confusing the audience. "I believe Sam has even generously offered to provide him with accommodation in case he can't afford to pay for his own for the two weeks in Leeds." We reckon he can afford to pay his own way, Ken.
