Die-hard St Patrick's Athletic fan and club legend Brian Kerr is still a mainstay at Richmond Park in 2025.
Indeed, it is a good time to be a Pat's supporter given their form towards the end of last season, both in Europe and domestically, which has them as many people's favourite to win the league this year.
The mastermind behind their upturn in form is, of course boss Stephen Kenny, in his first job since leaving his role as manager of Ireland.
Given Kerr's managerial history with the club - leading them to two league titles in the 80s/90s - the 71-year-old has always made himself available to new managers for help and advice.
However, he admits that he and Kenny do not talk, given the souring of their relationship in recent years. This stemmed from the unfavourable views Kerr had on Kenny's Ireland reign while working for Virgin Media TV.
"I’ve not spoken to him," Kerr said as Virgin Media Sport launched their coverage for 2025.
"But I go to the matches and if Stephen is still there with his five-year contract and then goes, I’ll be still going after him. I don’t have any problem with Stephen.
"With managers of Pats before, I’d talk to them maybe in the early stage, 'Look, I’m around if you need any help.'
"Stephen never thought that that was the case. It’s not something to get upset about. But I’m grand. He’s grand too.
"I’m delighted to see the team going so well. He’s played a part in that. He’s got stuck in and I enjoyed the end of the season."
